Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree

The apricot blossoms are out in full bloom and really beautiful today and we had weather to match which makes for perfect pollination. The bees were sworming all over the tree, hungry and doing their thing. Maybe we will get lucky and have some apricots this year. We didn't have a single apricot last year. The cherries should be blooming next week and then a couple of weeks after that, we should start apple blossom time.

Could it be Spring?

Okay, so my blog is really pathetic. It's been awhile, but I tell you what, I'm going to get with it one of these days. It's not that I don't have things to write about. Since January 1st, I've been to Utah three times and to Southern Idaho, California, Oregon, and Hawaii. I've pretty much only been home long enough to catch up on the laundry and repack my suitcase and take off again. Last Sunday, I felt like I needed to get up in church and introduce myself. I'm taking off again this Friday to go down to Southern Idaho to visit my parents and pickup Marissa from college to bring her home for the summer. Whew! . . . but I've had a great time. I would like to post pictures of all our travels and events, but there are so many I need to do a slide show which I have no clue how to do. So. . . when Marissa gets home I'll enlist her help and try to get my blog up to date. She keeps telling me I need to do Facebook, so maybe I'll get a lesson in that too.

Finding Joy in the Journey

One of my favorite talks from the October 2008 General Conference was given by President Thomas S. Monson during the Sunday Morning Session. One quote from that talk says:
"This is our one and only chance at mortal life - here and now. The longer we live, the greater is our realization that it is brief. Opportunities come, and then they are gone. I believe that among the greatest lessons we are to learn in this short sojourn upon the earth are lessons that help us distinguish between what is important and what is not. I plead with you not to let those most important things pass you by as you plan for that illusive and nonexistent future when you will have time to do all that you want to do.
